BeNda WORLD's Biography
Chicago native, Marc "BeNda WORLD" Boyd was born Feb 4, 1981 and has proven to be the creative pride of Wicker Park. His introduction into the world of Hip Hop came courtesy of his older brother Marlo who was also quite a talented rapper himself. Recognizing the gift of rap and music that ran through his veins, BeNda WORLD succumbed to his passion and decided to pursue his dream. Following in the footsteps of his brother , BeNda WORLD landed on the ''Jenny Jones Show'' soon after winning a talent show and being seen in "I Wish"(Remix)Video with R. Kelly .
While on his incredible journey, BeNda WORLD crossed paths with Burundi (Bun P) Partlow, a notable force in the industry and was offered the opportunity to perform as the opening act for super star rapper Twista. BeNda WORLD's momentum would continue to pick up as he came across music Burundi Partlow was working on and suggested he write to it. As it turns out, a young star on the rise named Kanye West was the producer of this song, and as a result developed a great working relationship while recording the song at Kanye's home.
BeNda WORLD continued to expand on his music repertoire by working with Hustle, a marketing and promotions company as a paid intern. He further went to solidify his street cred by exercising his rapping muscle in several rap battles with other artists. As a result, BeNda WORLD attracted the attention platinum producer Steve Huff and within two days BeNda WORLD was given the opportunity to play his music for Wayne Williams, the Sr. Vice President for Jive Records who liked the music and suggested a more commercial buzz and upon seeing that develop he would work with him.
Next BeNda WORLD set out to follow up on Wayne Williams' request for "buzz". Sure enough, soon after BeNda WORLD scored big and garnered the attention of DJ Scrap Dirty a music management executive and landed his single called, "In My Life" featuring a fellow artist Traye D. on a "Violator: Allstar DJs Mixtape". In addition, BeNda WORLD finally got the deal he was waiting for and accepted a record deal from Koch Entertainment as part of the group "Legit Ballaz".
BeNda WORLD's first national release as part of the group "Legit Ballin LLC" was released on February 21, 2006 and was entitled "THE TRUTH vol. 4", pre-selling an estimated 13,000 copies. The label was in no way disappointed in the overwhelming response it received as their newest piece of the Koch Entertainment family. BeNda World's hard work would continue to pay off in 2009 as he was featured on song called "Elevated" which is on Grammy Award Winning Kanye West's and Malik Yusef's album titled "Good Morning & Good Night" double CD. BeNda WORLD has gone on to appear in numerous videos, Performed in Chicago's HOUSE OF BLUES, Excalibur, WILDHARE, Chicago's Puerto Rican Day Parade, Dj Jamal Smallz CHARITY CAR & BIKESHOW with YUNG BERG, JUELZ SANTANA.
Continuing a bright and successful career, in 2011 BeNda WORLD released his highly anticipated single "MY DJ" on iTunes as a solo artist under his own imprint "CHA-CHING! MUSIC". BeNda WORLD'S "MY DJ" has also been mentioned in Hip Hop Weekly Magazine as"TOP 5 DJ PICKS" by DJ Citi. "MY DJ" is approaching 14,000 downloads on limelinx and has had strong support from WPWX-FM,WGCI-FM,KIPR-FM,SHADY 45-SiriusXM ,KBTT-FM,WJZD-FM. In addition, BeNda WORLD has expanded his portfolio by organizing huge events with Chris Brown, Trey Songz and Young Jeezy which had other celebs in attendance with the likes of Neyo, Wale and Busta Rhymes.
With all of BeNda WORLD's success, he is just getting started! As of August of 2012 BeNda WORLD began touring the U.S with the group, "17th FLOOR" which he is sponsored by Reebok. BeNda WORLD will also be working on a reality show called "BeNda's WORLD", highlighting his journey toward the next level of stardom while releasing his highly anticipated new single titled, "On My Way" as a solo artist.
